How it works:

Contour Body Wraps are holistic body contouring treatments that slim the body and smooth the skin using a combination of proven topical products and mechanical wrapping to contour and promote inch loss. This body contouring treatment slims and smooths the total body.

What you need to get started:

First, make sure you choose a wrap with ingredients that do not simply cause cell dehydration.
These products produce an inch loss caused by a temporary loss of fluids that will return to pretreatment size as soon as your client hydrates. You might see these referred to as slimming wraps.

IV. Infrared Sauna Sessions

How it works:

Infrared saunas sessions are body contouring treatments that lead to weight loss by (1) detoxifying the body and (2) burning calories, up to 600 calories per session.

Steam saunas produce heat which causes sweat. This results in a loss of water, which is restored when your client hydrates.
Infrared Saunas heat the body from the inside out allowing the client to endure higher temperatures, increases the heart rate and burns a lot of calories, leading to a real weight loss.

We chose the Sunlighten Infrared Sauna for our medspa because it is the only infrared sauna with weight loss, detox, and other benefits that have been proven and supported by clinical research.
The cost of a 2-person Sunlighten Infrared Sauna is around $3000 and up.
You can purchase other brands, even brands from overseas, for much less. These products, however, have not been proven to be effective.
There are no consumables.

PRO TIP: Your infrared sauna will likely come disassembled. You will need to assemble it.

VII. Vibration Platform

How it works:

A Vibration Platform is a body contouring treatment that slims by producing a side-to-side and back-and-forth motion generating ‘G forces’ on the body. Make sure you select one that will support the weight of your clients, > 250 pounds weight capacity.
Consider the size of the machine and the space in your business.
Select a machine that is easy to operate.
Make sure the machine produces full body vibration. Some produce only back-and-forth action or only side-to-side action.

We recommend designing a monthly vibration platform program and charging a flat monthly fee. At our medspa, we include unlimited use of our vibration platforms as part of our membership program. We also include unlimited use of the vibration platforms when clients purchase any other body contouring treatment series.
The list price for our vibration platform is $20/session. Even if you do not envision charging for the sessions, set a price and list a price. Setting a price creates a perceived value for the sessions.
