Want faster results? Prep the lymphatic system before treatments

The need for post-treatment lymphatic support is well recognized, but not so much for pre-treatment lymphatic support. And pre-treatment lymphatic support is critical. ‘Problem areas’ are predisposed to lymphatic congestion (meaning they more likely than not have a buildup of fluids, toxins and other waste) even before you start treatments. In this episode, learn how to prep the lymphatic system using vibration therapy to virtually assure faster and better results.

Hi I’m Shannon and I’m Kay and we’re your hosts of The Proven Profits Podcast

Kay:

Hi there healthcare professionals, business owners, body contouring technicians and beauty professionals!  Welcome everyone!   Kay here. Shannon and I want to thank you for being here too.

Most body contouring professionals are aware of the need for lymphatic assistance after body contouring treatments.  But they rarely think about pre-treatment lymphatic support.  Prepping the lymphatic system before treatments.  And it’s very important.  Think about plastic surgeons before a liposuction or Brazilian butt lift surgery.  Most of them recommend  treatments to assist with lymphatic drainage both PRE and POST surgery.

It’s vital that non-surgical body contouring professionals also recognize the benefits of pre-treatment lymphatic boosting treatments.

Most of our patients, if not nearly all, start out undergoing our treatments with an already-congested treatment area.  The severity varies, but nearly all of them have it.  You know areas of the body that are predisposed to stubborn fat or cellulite tend to have more lymphatic congestion to begin with.  Already excess fluids and a lot of buildup of waste and toxins in the area you’re gonna treat.

In today’s episode, we’re reviewing the lymphatic system - how it functions and how our modern day lifestyles make it so difficult for it to do its job, discussing lymphatic booster treatments and the reasons for the need for them both before and after patients start our body contouring treatments, and then we’ll tell you all about what we’ve used to prep our patients lymphatic systems for treatments and also to assist them during and after treatments.  It’s a favorite therapy of ours.  It’s vibration therapy.  And we think it’s the perfect remedy.  So easy. Totally flexible. And wonderfully affordable.  And after you hear everything that we’re talking about today, we think you’ll be convinced to get vibration therapy going in your practice as soon as possible. Before, during and after treatments.

Let’s get started!

What does the lymphatic system do?

The lymphatic system holds three important roles within the body. We’re focusing on its role in body contouring.  We’re not covering the other two roles, but if you want to learn about them, we’re leaving a link in today’s show notes to a helpful article about the lymphatic system published by the Cleveland Clinic

What is the one role of the three that relates to body contouring?

The lymphatic system is solely responsible for eliminating wastes, toxins and excess fluids from the body.

How does the lymphatic system eliminate wastes, toxins and excess fluids from the body?

The lymphatic system is made up of a network of lymphatic vessels that carry a fluid called lymph fluid.

Lymph fluid is composed mostly of water, but also contains waste, toxins and excess fluids that need to be eliminated from the body.

These lymphatic vessels run in the body alongside blood vessels and carry lymph fluid to the lymph nodes for filtering, and then eventually filtered out of the body via sweat, urine and bowel movements.

Blood vessels move blood via the pumping action of the heart, but the lymphatic vessels do not have a pump and rely on the body’s movement to move lymph fluids.

This lack of a pump can lead to problems, especially with non-invasive body contouring treatments.

Why is the lymphatic system critical in body contouring?

Without pumping action, the lymphatic vessels rely on the movement of the body.

That’s why modern day sedentary lifestyles make it difficult for the lymphatic system to function efficiently and optimally.

So many, if not most of our patients operate with inadequately functioning lymphatic systems.

They come to us for body contouring; we perform a non-invasive fat reduction treatment like fat cavitation, fat freezing or lipo laser, which use ultrasound cavitation, cryolipolysis and low level laser respectively, to reduce fat cells.

But our patients do not leave our business looking sculpted.

Instead, before inch reduction can be seen, our patients’ lymphatic systems have to take those damaged or destroyed fat cells and other waste, and filter it all out via the lymphatic system for elimination from the body.

When will reduction be seen?  Some patients may start seeing reduction from lymphatic excretion in about three weeks post treatment, but it can often take up to six months - or more.  The difference in timing?  The lymphatic system.

That’s why we need to help them.  With lymphatic booster treatments.

What are lymphatic booster treatments?

Lymphatic booster treatments are treatments that support and boost the patient’s lymphatic system function.

Most lymphatic booster treatments are powered by natural and holistic body contouring technologies that boost both the blood circulatory system and lymphatic system function.

Here’s a few examples: Vacuum Therapy, Pressotherapy and Whole Body Vibration Therapy (which we’re recommending today and discussing soon).

When it comes down to it, they are all detox treatments really.

Why do body contouring patients need lymphatic booster treatments?

In an ideal world, our patient’s lymphatic systems would not need our support, either pre or post treatment.  But…our modern world and present-day lifestyles impede lymphatic function and increase lymphatic congestion.

The lymphatic system needs

Movement, i.e. daily walking (not sitting all day on the job and all evening on the couch)

Adequate water intake (not sodas and alcohol)

Low stress levels (free from chronic stress, money and childcare concerns, traffic problems)

Proper nutrition (not fast food, processed food, excess sugars and fats)

Clean air (free from pollutants, chemicals and additives)

So…we help our patients with…

Pre-treatment lymphatic boosting and post-treatment lymphatic boosting

Let’s look at pre-treatment support first.  Before we even start our body contouring treatments.

Pre-Treatment Lymphatic Boosting Treatments

What do they do?  What’s their purpose?

Pre-treatment lymphatic boosting preps the body for the body contouring treatments by improving pre-treatment lymphatic function so as to ensure optimum elimination of the fats, fluids and toxins that our treatments leave behind.

Bottom line.  Pre-treatment lymphatic boosting will improve results - dramatically.

How do pre-treatment lymphatic boosting treatments improve results?

To begin with, areas that are predisposed to stubborn fat (treatment areas) tend to have more lymphatic congestion.

This means the treatment area(s) and the surrounding tissue is already overloaded - full of waste, debris, toxins and fluid.

Pre-treatment lymphatic boosting treatments help to evacuate much of this pre-existing excessive waste and debris and leaves behind cleaner, healthier tissue which responds much more favorably to treatments and delivers optimum results.

You can start at ground zero instead of starting out ten feet behind.

Post-Treatment Lymphatic Boosting Treatments

We’ve discussed these in depth before.

Post-treatment lymphatic boosting supports the patient’s body during the treatment series and after treatments by improving the lymphatic function so as to ensure optimum elimination of the fats, fluids and toxins left behind from the treatment (which is necessary to realize inch reduction).

Bottom line.  Without lymphatic support, your patient could wait a very long time to see results.

Are you beginning to see why we use vibration therapy before body contouring treatments, throughout a body contouring treatment series and after a treatment series is complete (to maintain results)?!

What is Whole Body Vibration Therapy, aka Vibration Therapy

Whole body vibration therapy (WBVT) is a passive exercise therapy in which your patient stands on a vibrating platform that engages up to 98% of the muscle fibers with rapid up-and-down, side-to-side and back-and-forth motions.

This vibrating motion produces intense but comfortable muscle contractions that stimulate both lymphatic drainage and blood flow.

A typical ‘treatment’ or program on the machine runs a short ten minutes.

Patients enjoy it.  Look forward to “getting their exercise.”  It really is a pleasurable treatment.

We already confessed it’s a favorite of ours.

Heres what we love about Vibration Therapy before body contouring treatments, during and after

It’s so easy and flexible:

No need to block out a treatment room.  Vibration therapy platforms can be placed in public areas.

No appointment necessary.  It’s an easy walk-in treatment.

Vibration therapy sessions are enjoyable.  And they don’t take more than ten minutes.  That makes it super easy for your patients.

While your patient ‘vibes,’ it’s easy to reinforce education, introduce new products and treatments, and strengthen your relationship with the patient.

And we just said it.  Patients love it.

So what about the machine?  Is is expensive?  No, it is not.  We actually own two of them…and keep them busy all day!

We’re sharing a link in our show notes to a Whole Body Vibration Machine like the ones we’ve used in our medical spa since 2015.  So check it out if you’re interested.  It’s priced at around $350.

If you want to offer this treatment in your business, you’ll need certification.  And of course we have a body contouring certification course in a favorite treatment, vibration therapy.

Most body contouring professionals are aware of the need for lymphatic assistance after body contouring treatments.  But not enough is known about the importance of prepping the lymphatic system before the treatments.  And it’s important.

Ideally, your patient should initiate body contouring treatments with a perfectly functioning lymphatic system.  But modern day lifestyles lend themselves to a poorly functioning lymphatic system and the initiation of treatments with a pre-existing congestion of fluids, toxins and waste in the treatment area.

From the information you've heard, you know you can change that.  Very easily.  You can use vibration therapy before body contouring treatments - in addition to during and after.

So…are you ready to implement vibration therapy in your practice?

Get the details on getting certified with our online vibration therapy certification course now!

That’s it for today.  Until next time,

Beautiful Wishes
