6 in 1 Lipo Laser course: the go-to for reducing stretch marks

6 in 1 lipo laser for stretch marks

Having a 6 in 1 multi technology machine as part of your body contouring business is a must.   And though 6 in 1 machines are best known for delivering fat cavitation and RF skin tightening, the line-up of other technologies housed in 6 in 1 platforms can vary.   Experienced body contouring professionals own 6 in 1 platforms that include lipo laser technology.  And the reason is simple. 6 in 1 lipo laser machines have the ability to use lipo laser to correct issues that other technologies cannot. In addition to its fat reducing power, lipo laser’s powerful light energy can address body contouring skin-related issues.  And in today's article, we focus on one of those: the ability of 6 in 1 lipo laser to fade, shrink, flatten and soften stretch marks.  So join us as we dive into the details of stretch marks, explore the powers of lipo laser’s light energy to reduce them and guide you down an easy path to implement 6 in 1 lipo laser in your business.

But first, a  quick explanation.

Our advice is derived from experience and expertise

We’re Shannon and Kay, an Esthetician and an RN/Attorney. We’ve been medspa owners/operators for twenty years.

We know how to succeed in the body contouring business.  Our most recent medspa opened in 2015, reached seven figures within a year, and still operates at seven figures today.

Since 2018, we’ve been sharing what we know in authoring certification courses as faculty for the Body Contouring Academy.

And…about today’s article.…we’ve been using light-energy technology to treat multiple body contouring issues (including stretch marks) since we opened our first medspa in 2006.

Now that you know us, let’s dive into 6 in 1 Lipo Laser and stretch marks!

Stretch Marks

What are stretch marks and what causes them?

Stretch marks (medical term, striae) are a type of scar that develops when

  • Skin is stretched too quickly (faster than it can stretch without tearing)

            OR

  • Shrinks too rapidly (faster than it can grow new collagen to repair the damage).

Stretch marks are a result of skin cell damage

  • Collagen provides support and strength for the skin.
  • Elastin provides the ability for skin to stretch.

⇨  Both collagen and elastin are damaged when skin stretches or shrinks too rapidly.

What do stretch marks look like?

Stretch marks are irregular line shaped scars; they change appearance as they age,

Newer stretch marks

  • Depending on the skin color, new stretch marks first appear red, purple or bluish in color.
  • In most cases, newer stretch marks are raised, ‘angry-looking’ and inflamed.

Older stretch marks

  • After several weeks - and oftentimes up to several months or longer, stretch marks lighten in color and become less inflamed, taking on a ‘shriveled’ or ‘wrinkled’ appearance.
  • They can also appear ‘shiny.’
  • Stretch marks fade, but will not go away.

How common are stretch marks and who do they affect?

Stretch marks are very common.

  • It’s estimated that as many as 90% of women develop stretch marks at some point in their life.
  • 40% of men report having stretch marks.
  • 86% of adolescents develop stretch marks with the body changes caused by puberty.
  • 88% of women develop stretch marks with pregnancies.
  • 43% of both men and women develop stretch marks with weight gain or weight loss.

Those who are most likely to develop stretch marks are those who fall within the categories quoted above.

  • Pregnant women (higher incidence in Black, Hispanic or Asian skin)
  • Anyone who gains or loses weight rapidly
  • Bodybuilders
  • Adolescents going through fast periods of growth and development
  • Family history of stretch marks

Areas of the body most commonly affected by stretch marks

  • Abdomen
  • Breasts
  • Thighs
  • Hips
  • Arms
  • Back (mostly men)

⇨  Most common areas seen (& treated): abdomen, breasts, hips, buttocks, arms

How 6 in 1 Lipo Laser reduces stretch marks

Stretch marks are scars and as such, can be minimized but cannot be erased with non-invasive treatments..

  • 6 in 1 Lipo Laser is one of few non-invasive therapies proven effective for stretch marks.
  • Its light energy provides a gentle, safe and effective treatment that reduces stretch marks by repairing and regenerating collagen and elastin.

6 in 1 Lipo laser is powered by a light energy known as LED technology

6 in 1 Lipo laser treatments are powered by light emitting diode (LED) technology.

Lipo Laser’s LED technology has many labels.  It can also  be referred to as

  • Red light therapy
  • Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT)
  • Cold laser therapy

How the LED technology works

  • Depending on the machine, the LED technology of 6 in 1 Lipo Laser emits between 635-675 nm wavelengths of light energy.
  • These light wavelengths induce a process in the body called photobiomodulation (PBR).

What is photobiomodulation (PBR)?

  • Compare photobiomodulation (PBR) in people to photosynthesis in plants.
  • Plants need light to grow and thrive, and likewise the cells of the human body need light energy to function properly and thrive.

Via 6 in 1 Lipo Laser’s LED technology…

⇨ It is photobiomodulation (PBR) produced that delivers an all-natural, healthy boost of light energy to all of the cells in the treated area sparking the production of collagen and elastin.

How treatments improve stretch marks

  • The PBR produced by 6 in 1 Lipo Laser treatments acts directly on skin cells producing the collagen and elastin needed to reverse damage and rejuvenate the skin.
  • The PBR produced by 6 in 1 Lipo Laser treatments repairs scars by activating specialized stem cells to promote stretch mark healing.
  • The PBR produced by 6 in 1 Lipo Laser treatments restores elastin fibers, increasing both skin elasticity and strength, which improves the appearance of stretch marks.

How many treatment sessions are needed for stretch marks?

  • Generally, the newer the stretch marks the better they will respond to treatments, but you can improve older stretch marks.
  • For reduction in the color, size, softening and flattening of stretch marks, a series of up to 20 treatment sessions is often needed, at a frequency of 1-2 treatments weekly.
  • We recommend starting with a series of 10 treatments and evaluating at the end of those treatments.  More treatments may or may not be needed.
